Take your plexiglass and put it somewhere near your work station.

Take all remaining tile spacers out.

Optional step: Slyguard 184: What this basically does is waterproof your panel and coat it with something witch enhances the flow of electricity. You don't have to use it, but I'd recommend it. What you’re basically going to do is mix the Slyguard 184 together and use it to paint over the cells. Just pour it over the cells then spread it out with the paint brush.

Solar Panels For House: The reason why you might want to do this it is an extra step in making sure your cells stay waterproof. Even if your frame leaks, and it shouldn’t, but age will take its toll, the Slyguard 184 should protect you.

The next step, if you applied the Slyguard 184 is to bring your solar panel out in the sun, test it again to make sure your getting the proper amount of voltage, and let it sit out in the sun for a few days to let the Slyguard 184 harden.

After a few days, you’re ready to install the Plexiglass over your panel.

Apply 2 full line of silicone around the lip of your of your panel frame.

Also fill in the two holes where the bus wire exits the frame with silicone.

Immediately after applying the silicone over the panel frame, put the Plexiglass directly on top. Be sure it is as even as possible.

You should have your plexiglass sitting on top of your frame. Wipe off any excess silicone around the edges.

Take your L brackets and position them on the corners of the frame.

Solar Panels For House: Attach an appropriate drill bit to your drill. You might want to mark your holes to begin with, or use the brackets themselves as a guide and pre-drill your holes. Drill at a slow speed while drilling through the plexiglass to avoid cracking it. Drill through the plexiglass and ¼ inch or so into the wood frame.

Start by manually screwing your 1” wood screws into the L bracket. Once it starts to stick, use the power drill to finish. Screw it down tight but not so tight it cracks the plexiglass.

Now add your straight brackets, mark, pre-drill, and screw them down

Solar Panels For House: Once you have everything screwed into place, take the silicone and apply silicone all around the perimeter of the frame. Look for any gaps where water might leak in and fill in any gaps.
